China beach, a surfing and fire making afternoon. October 10th, 2016
As soon as we get down to the beach, Julian has to find one of the dirtiest pieces of nature and you know....put it in his mouth! Geesh!
Who says you can't go in the ocean in October? You got a wetsuit, go for it. Your hands will be numb, your head maybe too, but it doesn't stop Andrew and Jayna. She is 2.5 months away from her 5th Birthday. She loves being in the ocean. She jumps on Daddy's back, and they catch waves. They wait for them together. They glide through them together. Here is a photo I edited that is framed in our bedroom now.
Going into a waves, Andrew carries Jay on his back. She loves it there, and the two of them are in their element together!
When Andrew gets tired, or Jay may get cold, they come in. Andrew pushes her into the small shore waves. Then hand in hand, they go to get warm.
Little Miss Jay trying to get warm with a freezing wetsuit clinging to her body! Can you see the discomfort in her face? It doesn't last too long, and she is up to something else.
Julian was busy playing with a plastic knife. He likes knifes in his hand, and I have been telling him "no, those are not safe." at home! So here he is living on the edge!
Our kids in their element; the outdoors, the beach. Building our little fire to warm us up:
i just love taking photos of nature, specifically close up photos! I love the detail! There is beauty in everything. Here are photos of all the different kinds of wood that was on the beach that I found interesting. The grain of the wood, the texture, color....each has a past, each tells a story. If the wood could talk...what would it say? Where had it been, and how did it come to land on this beach? haha I know I may be sounding strange...but it's just a thought.
So long beautiful beach, until next time!
