My Auntie Nee Nee...

So today I drove about an hour and 20 minutes to Yellow Point Lodge to see my Auntie Nee Nee and Uncle Peter. They drove from Alberta to stay there for a relaxing 4 days, it's a yearly tradition for them. There are tons of cabins right on the ocean shore, amazing food and nice lodging.

I know we are moving to Red Deer soon so I would get to see Nee Nee shortly after, since she lives in Carstairs Alberta. However, we all know babies change so fast and so much, and I really wanted her to see Jayna as soon as possible! My Aunties first name is Jeanine, but when all of us nieces and nephews were little we couldn't really say it properly, so we called her Nee Nee instead. It was just one of those names that stuck. Nee Nee is so special to me, ever since I was young. She is such a warm, giving, loving, funny, energetic, goofy, spiritual, generous woman. I really love her! Nee Nee has 6 kids of her own, and 3 girls she adopted, and as long as I can remember she has been a foster parent, until recently. She always always had a house full of kids! She has a lot of grandchildren too that just adore her. I lived with Nee Nee when I was 20, just finished my Hair Schooling and got a job in Calgary. It was a great time in my life. I remember one time when I was about 16, I went to visit Nee Nee for Spring Break. She took me on a shopping spree and totally spoiled me! One of the things she got me were these amazing bright reddy orange plether pants from Le Chateau! They sound hideous, but they were actually pretty rad! They looked killer on me, and the amazing thing was they also fit Auntie Nee Nee! I will never forget that, man I look back now and see how small I was and can't believe she fit into them! haha. Growing up I loved any time I got to spend with my Auntie, I just liked being at her house and running errands with her, or doing whatever. One time when she came to visit us in Victoria we were in the mall, and I hear "Hey Ashley, wanna ride?!" I turn around to see Nee Nee on an electric scooter! I don't know if they still have those, but back then they had them available for some elderly people, and Nee Nee was not an elderly person! haha I was laughing so hard. She rode it for the rest of the time we were in the Mall, even in the food court, she rode up to our table with her tray and scooter! Oh man. I remember when I lived with her, we would be up together a lot of nights when everyone else went to bed watching " The Bounty Hunter" or "CSI" eating treats. lol. I loved that time just me and Auntie. She is famous for mixing up words when explaining something to someone, or asking a question. For example... one time she wanted to know what movies were playing at the Theatre...so she asks her son in law: " Nathan can you check on the computer what movies are playing at the Sunridge Scrotum!" haha what she meant was "Sunridge Spectrum." Never a dull moment with Nee Nee, never a time we don't laugh our heads off! There are a lot of memories, but those few come to my mind right away. We share a special bond, and I have always looked forward to my children knowing her and loving her as much as I do, and I know they will! I have been telling Jayna we are going to meet Auntie Nee Nee, so when today came I was excited! Of course Nee Nee loved Jayna, and Jayna loved her too. She smiled and cooed at her and there were a few times we caught Jayna just staring at her! I can tell she's gonna love her just as much as I do! Here are a couple of pics of them together...

Eventhough Jayna was kind of protesting, we snapped a few anyways! haha

Later on after dinner, Jay fell asleep on me with such a sweet squished face...

Loving my Ergo Carrier and excited for Summer!!

Andrew and I went for a walk tonight at 7 and it was sooo cool because it was still very light out! Ouuuu, makes me so excited for summer!! It's already beginning!! For example, I saw this beauty popping out in my Mom's yard...

And I was at my Mom's another time this week and looked out her kitchen window and saw this...

I thought it was so cool how the Robin was sitting at the very tip of the tree! lol

So flowers and Robins...Spring is here in BC and summer is coming! Hallelujah!

Here's Jay and I after our beautiful walk on a beautiful Sunday!

Firsts...

Somehow the first time we see, touch, experience, taste, do, or accomplish something is the time we remember most. As a parent, especially being a Mother I get to be around to witness my baby girls firsts. Well, at least in her childhood years. (I mean it wasn't like my Mom was standing next to me when I had my first kiss.)It is pretty incredible how we all start out as a tiny baby so pure, innocent, and dependant on our parents for our well being. We are born, and open our eyes for the first time, we ride in a car, we smile, we laugh, we cry, we feel an array of emotions...the list goes on and on. I know there will be times when Jayna asks me about things, and whatever I say will be her first knowledge of the topic. I pray that I will have wisdom as she grows to know what to say. And I pray that can I act in such a way that she will look to me as an example that will help her with some of her firsts.
I remember the first time Jayna had tears, when she smiled, when she cooed, and it will continue...last night I was changing her diaper, her change table is fun time for her and I. I take my time and I talk and sing to her and kiss her, rub her tummy, and look right into her eyes. This time is my most precious time with Jayna. She looks right back into my eyes, and smiles, and tests out her voice in the cutest tones my ears have ever heard! And last night....she laughed! Twice! I was so shocked, I couldn't believe it! I started to laugh too, and I wanted to cry because I thought it was so amazing. She is literally growing up before my eyes, and so quickly. I am cherishing these moments, each day with her is truly a precious gift. I love you Jayna Joy. You really are my JOY!

My Husband cracks me up...

What a term..."cracks me up!?" I always wonder with little sayings like this how everyone seems to know them... Who made it up, how did it circle the world so that almost everyone has heard it before? How does it seems to stick for years and years?
Anyways, this post is not about little sayings, this is about Andrew and how funny he is with Jayna. He is so creative, and just does the funniest things with her! For example...

This is his way of entertaining her and showing her around the house...

haha lets get a zoom in on her face...does she look impressed with Daddy?

This is his playtime with her in our room ...

He said he built her "a fort". haha.

When Andrew gives Jayna baths his inner designer comes out...

When Andrew holds her at a restaurant, she doesn't get milk, she gets whatever he's eating...

I can see the future already, Jayna Joy is going to have so much fun with her Daddy! Here are a few more cute ones of them together just because...

I sure love the two loves of my life!!!!

Jayna Joy in February...

Having some tummy time in the sun. Such a precious babe. February 4th, 2012. 5 weeks and 1 day old.

These pictures were taken on February 11th, 2012, Jayna is 6 weeks and 2 days. This was around the time she started to really smile, and the first time I tried to capture it on camera. The first one was successful, then she got serious. lol.

Jayna with Grandma Jane Forin, February 12th 2012. This was our first trip to Courtenay to see her!

Cuddling with Grandma Jane in a new outfit she bought her.

Jayna was fussing and Auntie Marnie started singing a really funny song which I can't remember what is was at the moment and she totally fell asleep! We had a good laugh.

February 17th, 2012. She was such a happy baby here and I was again trying to capture some smiles.

Hahahahahaha

So happy!

Jayna seriously loves bathtime. She never cries, only sometimes when I take her out and put her in her towel! lol

That night we took Jayna with us to the Gold and Green Ball at the Church. There was a live band, so we ended up staying out in the Hall where it wasn't so loud. Kathy held Jayna later on so Andrew and I could have a slow dance, which was sooo nice. I convinced him to stay on the floor for a swing dance and was having so much fun when someone stopped me and grabbed my shoulders. Turns out it was a girl from my mission! Small world! It was a nice night out and Jayna just looked so stinkin' cute! Here she is with her Nana, who was showing her off to a ton of people that night, lol.

And all because two people fell inlove...
Her face is too funny in this picture! My mom took a ton of picture of us with Jayna, and seriously not one of them turned out frame worthy! Jayna was not in a portrait mood!
She was sick of having her picture taken, literally. lol
Our sweetheart. 7 weeks old.
Some one on one with Uncle Josh!

Chilling in her chair, one day shy of 8 weeks old. I noticed she started to drool a lot more around this time...already? lol

Jayna hanging out with our good friend Erich Stussi. She was content, but had a little fit all of sudden... I had to post this picture cause I finally captured what I call her "BABY GRINCH FACE!" Seriously if she was painted green, she would be the Jim Carrey Grinch's twin when he was a baby in that movie. So funny!! She doesn't do this often, but when she does I can't help but laugh.

I'll let you be the judge...

February 25th, 2012. Jayna is 8 weeks and 2 days. My dear cousin Susie came to visit with her baby Niveah who is 8 and a half months old. We had a good laugh cause Sue and I have such a height difference. She comes up to my shoulder! In this pic I was bending my knees! We layed our girls down beside each other and Niveah was only a few inches longer than Jayna and she's 6.5 months older! I think out girls will follow the height gap! OK, I know this sounds really bad, but I just can't help but think of Hitler in the movie "Valkyrie" when I see this picture of Jayna! It's the hair...hahaha

I'll let you be the judge...

February 26th, 2012, Jayna is 8 weeks and 2 days here. This was a Sunday evening at my Mom's after church.
Down time with Nana...

February 27th, 2012. I didn't realize until after I got dressed that Jay and I were actually matching! I was pretty stoked about that! This picture just warms my heart, she is such a special little girl!! We love her sooo much!

Later that day. Big eyes from the flash!

Sporting her little onesie and hat Uncle Josh got her for Christmas, before she was born! Almost 9 weeks old!

THE END!
