Photoshoot #6 June 2016 - Baby Dane

Andrew's bestfriend, Roland Stussi became a Dad this year! They had a baby boy and named him Dane. Julia asked if I could take some photos of them together some time. I did a little photoshoot in our bedroom when they came to visit. An Impromtu shoot! Baby Dane was sooo cute, and we got some sweet little shots! This was my first experience photographing a newborn with Mom and Dad!! First off, the cutest little yawn!! I love this one!
Having your first baby is pretty magical. It can be such a learning curve. Everything is new and exciting! Babies are soo soo tiny and so delicate and sweet. Every move, facial expression, sound is adorable. What an exciting time in a couples life. Pretty neat to have these to look back on!

Photoshoot #5 June 2016 - Baby Clara

I wanted to photograph some new headbands for my etsy shop, and needed a baby model. I asked on facebook, and Jessica offered her little baby Clara for a photoshoot. I gave her copies of the photos and a free headband in exchange. I need to do some more photoshoots for my Etsy shop again (it's 2018 now!) Here is baby Clara. She was a very happy and cooperative baby!
Turns out, I never loaded these photos into my etsy shop for listings for these particular headbands! haha But they made cute photos none the less, and I have used them for advertising.

Photoshoot #4, May 2016 - #wildchild

So my friend Jenna got her shirts in for her little #wildchild business and wanted me to do a photoshoot for her! I was so stoked! I got Jayna and our neighbor Sophia to join Jenna's daughter Jorgia. We went to my favourite beach, Aylard Farms/Beecher Bay in East Sooke. I just LOVE this beach. It's never super busy, the sand is light and soft. The dark rocks by the ocean shore are so beautiful! There are nature forests trails to explore right off the beach, and then a huge field on your walk down to the beach. Photoshoot dreamland. I was so inlove with these photos, and editing them were so fun!! It's so exciting to me when I load them to the computer and think they are awesome, then after I edit them it's like wow! The magic of editing, and changing tones and sharpening.... Amazing, it just lights a huge fire in my heart! I really love it!!
It is always tricky taking photos of kids because you never really know what you are going to get, and just got to go with it! I love their faces and them running, holding hands, exploring. It was so fun to watch them interact with each other and see how the older two helped out and took care of Jorgia. Oh, the beauty of being a child. Why do any of us have to grow up?
I love the last photo of Jayna and Sophia! We live one house away from each other, and they play together all the time. Right now they are little. I wonder where each of their lives will lead and if they will stay friends into adulthood? Here are some photos of Jenna from the same night. I just love the golden hour for taking photos. The catch light on her hair! This girls is on fire;)
Boom! Another bites the dust. I freakin' love photography!

Photoshoot #3 March 2016 - My parents

In the Spring, 2016, I was able to have a little photoshoot with my parents at Hatley Castle, a historical place in Victoria. A part of the movie X-Men was filmed here, amongst others. Kinda cool. I had my grad pictures done in the Gardens here and lots of memories. My Mom looks pretty in her blue ruffle shirt, and it was nice to capture some photos of her and my Stepdad. They have been married for 23 years now.
Then we went to Albert Head Lagoon for a scenery change. My parents love the beach, as do I. My Mom has always taken a strong love of the ocean. They were actually married on a beach by the ocean close to this one. I love how these photos turned out! What a nice keep sake for my Mom and Dad.
Referring to the last photos of my Mom....Do you think this is what I will look like in 24 years from now? '
