Jayna's Baby Blessing Day.

Our sweet precious babe Jayna Joy was blessed on Sunday, March 4th, 2012 in 3rd Ward, the same ward I grew up in, which is kind of neat! Andrew gave her a name and blessing and it was beautiful. Along with him in the circle was my Dad Dave, my brother Josh, our former Stake President Randy Keyes, and my brother in law Mark Burnham. I was a bit worried the week leading up to Sunday, hoping that all would go well...that Jayna wouldn't be crying, or hungry at the time she was going to be blessed, or wouldn't spit up on her beautiful dress when I put it on her, or that we would get out the door on time and nothing would go wrong to make us late! So...we left at the time we wanted to and got to Church early so I could put her dress on her. She never spit up on it, thank goodness. I looked at her all dolled up and got tears in my eyes, she was so beautiful all in white. I just felt so strongly of her precious spirit and how special she is. Once Sacrament Meeting started Jayna started to fuss, and I heard the "Na" cry..."Oh no, not now!" I thought, once she is hungry, nothing really can stop her but to feed her. I tried my best to calm her, I actually got up and walked to the back, and she calmed down. She likes me to hold her when I stand up more than when I'm sitting down. The Bishop announced the passing of the Sacarment to start, so I thought " Ok good, I guess they are blessing her after the Sacrament, I can feed her now." I headed towards the Mothers Lounge...Then he corrects himself, " Oh sorry, we are actually going to have a baby blessing..." So I turned around and walking into the Chapel and handed Jayna to her Daddy. Apparently, Jayna was pretty content in the beginning and then she started to fuss a little bit, so Andrew started to bounce her in his hands. All the other men went along with it and added their little bit of bouncing!! My Dad told us all after that he opened his eyes to see Jayna smiling from ear to ear looking at all the men so happily, loving the bouncing! haha He said it was a good thing the blessing wasn't too long cause the strength of the 6 of them really would have sent her flying up in the air, lol. She even let out a coo or two during the blessing! After Andrew held her up for the congregation to see Lion King style! It was pretty funny. She was sooo good! Then after she stared to fuss a bit again and I took her out to feed her. But she was good for what mattered. So in the end, the things I worried about all turned out! Here is a picture of her dress. Unfortuatley I changed her out of it before I fed her, so we don't have any pictures from that day with her in it! I will have to get some of her later on.

After Church we had a big family Dinner at our place. My Mother in Law Jane came down from Courtenay, and Anna came from Vancouver. Everyone else that came lives here, so it was awesome! Oh the joys of trying to get a good family photo with a self-timed camera...

She spit up right when the picture took, look at my face! hahaha

My Mother in Law Jane is so amazing! She helped me so much that weekend and made all the food on Saturday and Sunday, and got it all ready. She is such a hard worker, and I love it when she comes and cooks up a storm. Every time she has come to visit us since Jayna's been born, she leaves us with a fridge stocked full for food! I have no complaints there! lol. I am really happy that both sides of mine and Andrew's family all get along and can have a really fun time together! I love our families with all my heart, and Jayna will definitely have no shortage of love from them!

My brother and Dad. haha Josh.

Dad and I. I am so grateful we live here in Victoria so I can see my parents whenever I want! I like to go for walks with my Dad, go over for dinner, and he is always willing to help me with anything I need. I love my Dad, he is a good man. I'm really glad he was able to make it to Jayna's blessing, and our family dinner! Eventhough my parents aren't together, they still get along and I feel pretty lucky that there is harmony in my family.

My brother Joshua and I. My little brother is an amazing person to me. We have always been best friends since we were little. We have been through a lot together. He is a tender hearted brother who has always had my back. He knows me so well and can always tell if I am upset or if something is wrong just by my tone of voice and is right there to help me through it, or just listen. He is the best brother, and I feel so lucky that we are so close and have such good memories together. I know that he will be a special Uncle to Jayna and they will be close too! I'm really happy that we live in the same place right now and he was able to be apart of Jayna's Blessing!! Love you bud!

My dear siblings, just our brother Michael missing!

Nana and Jayna all ready for bed.

Baby J all bundled up after an eventful day. We love you so much sweetheart!!
