My Auntie Nee Nee...

So today I drove about an hour and 20 minutes to Yellow Point Lodge to see my Auntie Nee Nee and Uncle Peter. They drove from Alberta to stay there for a relaxing 4 days, it's a yearly tradition for them. There are tons of cabins right on the ocean shore, amazing food and nice lodging.

I know we are moving to Red Deer soon so I would get to see Nee Nee shortly after, since she lives in Carstairs Alberta. However, we all know babies change so fast and so much, and I really wanted her to see Jayna as soon as possible! My Aunties first name is Jeanine, but when all of us nieces and nephews were little we couldn't really say it properly, so we called her Nee Nee instead. It was just one of those names that stuck. Nee Nee is so special to me, ever since I was young. She is such a warm, giving, loving, funny, energetic, goofy, spiritual, generous woman. I really love her! Nee Nee has 6 kids of her own, and 3 girls she adopted, and as long as I can remember she has been a foster parent, until recently. She always always had a house full of kids! She has a lot of grandchildren too that just adore her. I lived with Nee Nee when I was 20, just finished my Hair Schooling and got a job in Calgary. It was a great time in my life. I remember one time when I was about 16, I went to visit Nee Nee for Spring Break. She took me on a shopping spree and totally spoiled me! One of the things she got me were these amazing bright reddy orange plether pants from Le Chateau! They sound hideous, but they were actually pretty rad! They looked killer on me, and the amazing thing was they also fit Auntie Nee Nee! I will never forget that, man I look back now and see how small I was and can't believe she fit into them! haha. Growing up I loved any time I got to spend with my Auntie, I just liked being at her house and running errands with her, or doing whatever. One time when she came to visit us in Victoria we were in the mall, and I hear "Hey Ashley, wanna ride?!" I turn around to see Nee Nee on an electric scooter! I don't know if they still have those, but back then they had them available for some elderly people, and Nee Nee was not an elderly person! haha I was laughing so hard. She rode it for the rest of the time we were in the Mall, even in the food court, she rode up to our table with her tray and scooter! Oh man. I remember when I lived with her, we would be up together a lot of nights when everyone else went to bed watching " The Bounty Hunter" or "CSI" eating treats. lol. I loved that time just me and Auntie. She is famous for mixing up words when explaining something to someone, or asking a question. For example... one time she wanted to know what movies were playing at the Theatre...so she asks her son in law: " Nathan can you check on the computer what movies are playing at the Sunridge Scrotum!" haha what she meant was "Sunridge Spectrum." Never a dull moment with Nee Nee, never a time we don't laugh our heads off! There are a lot of memories, but those few come to my mind right away. We share a special bond, and I have always looked forward to my children knowing her and loving her as much as I do, and I know they will! I have been telling Jayna we are going to meet Auntie Nee Nee, so when today came I was excited! Of course Nee Nee loved Jayna, and Jayna loved her too. She smiled and cooed at her and there were a few times we caught Jayna just staring at her! I can tell she's gonna love her just as much as I do! Here are a couple of pics of them together...

Eventhough Jayna was kind of protesting, we snapped a few anyways! haha

Later on after dinner, Jay fell asleep on me with such a sweet squished face...
Mommy and daughter, March 19th, 2012. Jayna is 11 weeks and 4 days old.
