Mt. Washington Christmas 2016

On Boxing Day we headed up to the Comox Valley to see Grandma Jane and family and friends! We stopped at one of Andrew's best friends, Gord's house. He has an awesome property and a new house he just built. He showed the kids his heavy machinery and let each of them work it with his help! Here is a pic of him and Julian. Actually, I think Julian hit the watermain that day and water was shooting out in the house, and they had to spend a chunk of time to fix it! Gord is so easy going, he was just laughing and not mad at all. One reasons why him and Andrew are friends, similar personalities!
We headed up to Mt. Washington on December 27th. Since the kids were pretty little to try skiing, and I was pregnant and couldn't go, we just played around near the slope on a hill. Handsome little Julian:)
There was a TON of snow though and it was deep and hard to walk through. I didn't have snow pants either, so I couldn't really help Andrew. I just watched and took some pics! He spent the whole time carrying the kids up the hill, and then letting them ride down on a little sled! He was so hot and tired... I took pictures and continued to grow a baby:)
I bought these boots on my mission in 2007! And I still have them, and they are in such good shape. They came in handy this winter!
Daddy and Julian taking a little rest:
I laugh so much just remembering this moment, so Jayna got an Olaf balloon from Grandpa John. She had it tied to her and took it everywhere for the whole day. She refused to leave it in the car, so Olaf got tied to her wrist and came with us to Mt. Washington. Jayna started to get a bit annoyed at having it tied to her and wanted to let Olaf go. I explained to her that once we did that, he would fly high in the sky and be gone. She seemed to be okay with it. So we counted and she let him free. I captured each step of that, and laugh when I see his face in the sky. A little while later she missed Olaf and wanted him back! She cried in the car, as we tried to look for him in the white sky. She regretted letting him go. I tried to sympathize and soothe, as I laughed inside a bit. Children are funny sometimes. Bye Bye Olaf!!
The kids had a good time and didn't want to leave, but Andrew was spent! And rightfully so! It was a beautiful drive down the Mountain and nice new experience for us as a family:)
