Exploring a new beach with Daddy
April 7th 2016, We drove up the Malahat (the highway to go up island) and stopped off at a beach. Can't think of the name now, but there was a little trail to get down there, some nice grass areas with picnic tables, and then the tide was out. When the tide is out is funnest for kids because they can roam around the wet sand and find lots of crabs and little sea creatures. It's a child's wonderland. I got a chance to lay down in the grass for a little while amidst the sunshine and flowers and listen to music. I loved doing that as a teenager and young adult. The world is a different place when you have your headphones in listening to music and watching everything around you.
I love taking photos of my little family, so off I went to capture some moments...
Jayna loves to explore and find new insects, sea creatures, animals of any kind. She is not shy to pick them up. One time she ended up killing a frog because she refused to put it back in the swamp, and I think may have held it too tight...but she has gotten better:) It really is so neat and fun to see the enjoyment and wonder that children have seeing things for the first time and exploring. They really live in the moment, and take it in and I really love that. It's a gift as a parent to be able to watch them live and learn.
Digging for clams/gooey ducks...
Julian getting his shoe stuck in wet sand...
More little ocean finds...
Getting cleaned up, Julian didn't mind:)
What a sweet little boy we have.
Proof that I was there too, lol.
Good-bye beach. See you again some time. Jayna was 4 years and 3 months old here, love the mix matching socks there Jay;) And Julian just turned 2 a week prior. Daddy is 32, and I am 31.
